Every couple of years we get a fairly big one. I remember one when I was in high school where you couldn't see a building ten feet away. Makes for a disaster in the house when you get home though. It doesn't seem to matter how tightly the windows and doors are closed it still manages to get in and cover everything.
So far I've been lucky enough not to get caught in one while driving. In 1999 there was a really bad one south of here with three separate pile ups on the Interstate that caused 6 fatalities. They say to get off the road as far as possible even if it means abandoning your car.
